Week of Nov 10/11 2012

What's going on that you need to know about at UCUMC??

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Next weekend the children of UCUMC will hear about Operation Christmas Child—the ministry that delivers gift boxes to less-fortunate children all around the world—and all families are encouraged to fill a box. If instructions don’t get to you, pick up a flyer in the lobby rack.
ALL BOXES ARE DUE BACK NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 18.
Contact: NancyScheid@ucumc.net (407.359.2112 ext. 120).

SCHOOL UNIFORMS - HELPING KIDS

Many families from Bonneville Elementary School cannot afford a school uniform for their child. You can help by donating gently used or new school uniforms for girls and boys. Items needed:
White or navy polo shirts (with colar)—size small to extra large
Navy or kahki shorts, long pants or skorts (girls)—size 6 to 16

Place items in the collection box in the church lobby.

CARE MINISTRY TEAM

Let God work through you to reach out in love to those who are
  • unable to come to church regularly
  • in assisted living facilities
  • in the hospital or recovering at home
Use your gifts to send cards, make phone calls, or visit in homes or hospitals. Not sure? Don’t feel trained? We’ll help you every step of the way. Join a team to encourage, comfort and make a difference in the lives of members of our church family.
If you have received training for Stephen’s Ministry, please contact Mike Coffey: 407.588.1712 orMikeCoffey@ucumc.net

Ride with us on Saturday, November 10, and volunteer at the 5th Annual Hope Bike Run to benefit the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home (an event that attracts riders from throughout the state). We’ll form up at 9:15 am in front of the EPICenter, ride to the Osteen Diner for breakfast, and then to Enterprise and the Children’s Home where we’ll assist from 11:30–2:30. All riders are welcome! Contact Bart McIlroy at 407.739.2769 or bcmcilroy@bellsouth.net if you are interested.
