Change...

Hello Hospitality!
I wanted to give you an update on some things coming up in and around UCUMC!

As you all know, there have been very exciting changes happening right before our eyes!  We've seen our Music Ministry evolve, our Children's Ministry bloom and our Pastoral staff grow!

There are new service options starting soon, time changes that have already happened and play areas being built....just to name a few things!

Whew!
That is allot of things going on at once.  It means adjustment, it means adaptation....it means change.  Change can be hard.

It's especially hard when it happens in and around a place we find comfort, security and solace.

Among the excitement and anticipation, it's ok to admit that sometimes change makes us scared, unsure and somber.
With that said I want to put out a comforting thought...
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8
That's not my truth...that's a Biblical truth.

A question that might be asked is...Why? Why all this change?  Why all this 'movement'?

To find the lost
To invite the curious
To meet people where they are in life.
To enrich the lives of those who feel alone

With the many new resources we will be able to reach out to even more people.....

To reach out to the believer and unbeliever alike that does not have a relationship with Jesus.
We are surrounded by them.
(literally)
The family...the college student...the widow

Ministry never looked the same day to day for Jesus.  Whether he was on a mount, in a temple or by a well, but his message was the same...
"Come to me all who are weary and burdened..and I will give you rest"
Matt 11:28

So as we celebrate the new things seen all around us...and evidence of the things to come, let's keep faith.
Faith in the uncertain.....Faith in the unknown.

This Church has changed the lives of many people in wonderful ways
 (mine included)
I say all this to say that there is a greater good behind all of this.
There is a plan that I believe God has carefully orchestrated.  While things move and change around us, let's keep our sights on the one who never changes.
Good things are to come.

Hospitality Changes.....

I am still functioning as the Hospitality Coordinator, but there will be a new face filling my Sunday role at some point in time.  Interviews are underway.
I am and will still be the Hospitality Coordinator for Saturday night 6:30 services.

My main role will be the Administrative Assistant for the 5:00 Saturday night service starting September 7th.

As construction continues.. the Volunteer room may be cluttered with various items that are being moved and need a temporary home.
Please excuse these short term obstacles that we may come across along the way.

Please continue to reach out to each other for coverage when you can't serve a weekend you're scheduled.

This is an exciting time as we look to the future and think of all the lives that will change as we move forward and reach out to the people around us!

Thank you for all you do!  We would not be the wonderful,  welcoming Church we are without your friendly faces!

God Bless!

Patti

Hospitality

Hello Hospitality!

As you all know, there are lot's of exciting things going on in and around the Church! We are growing, evolving and blooming in so many different directions.  There are some seeds, some buds...and some flowers starting to grow right in front of our eyes!

Our Children's Ministry rooms and hallways are being transformed and updated, our FIVE family service is coming together and our Singles and Starters service is being prayerfully planned! God has been blessing all of us along the way as we have all taken part in some way to get this garden started!

God is truly allowing our seeds to grow as we all plant and water this exciting garden of growth!

My role in Hospitality will be evolving as well.  I will be helping Pastor Tim as the Administrative Assistant to the FIVE service starting in September.  I have been working with Pastor Tim and an enthusiastic team of people, to get things ready for the Fall.

You may have wondered what this means for the Hospitality Team!  As I move over to working with Saturday night services, we will have another Hospitality Leader hired to work with Sunday services. This new person and I, will team up for larger events and needs as they come.  It's exciting to see the Hospitality Ministry grow in this way!

I will keep you all posted as this transition takes place.

You can tell people about these exciting opportunities and events!

Hello Hospitality!
Holy Week is upon us as we move into our Palm Sunday Weekend.
Your friendly faces are so important each Sunday, but in these coming weeks more than ever.  Many people only come to Church on Holidays.  Sometimes they have not yet found a close relationship with Christ, and sometimes they take the opportunity of a Holidays to begin one.
Finally making that choice to come to Church is big! Making the choice to continue coming is HUGE!  You can help their decision, by being that welcoming face and HIS hands and feet, as you greet each person that comes to Church this weekend.

Check out this video:  They need you
