Well, I am back from Converge this week and I must tell you it was an INCREDIBLE experience! The picture above is of my team (Team 2). These kids were amazing in every way. Each and every day that we went out to serve, they gave their whole heart and soul...in Jesus' name.
For anyone that has ever had the misconception that teenagers live only inside their own heads and lives....I would love for them to meet these teens. God has blessed our community, and our Church with an amazing group of youth. I fell in love with all of them and have an even GREATER appreciation for our youth ministry. Bobby Brooks, Jeninne Van Sickle, Phil Coleman and their team of interns are an amazing team of people. They love, support and challenge these kids to grow in Christ. They give them a safe and fun environment to grow their relationship with Jesus.
I honestly have tears in my eyes as I type this and look at these pictures again. To say they just couldn't do enough for each and every person we met, is an understatement. On a day they could have chosen to have some down time they UNANIMOUSLY voted to go back to Palm Valley because they knew more people needed their help! Ok.......now I need a tissue!
It came to my attention during my time at Converge that there are several kids from Converge that are wanting to go to several different Mission camp experiences that are coming up this summer, but they can not afford to go. It blew my mind that many of these kids try to work different odd jobs to 'save up' to go to these Mission based camps!
If God is moving you to make a difference in the life of a teen...Please make a donation to Epic and just make a note that it's to help send some of these kids to camp.
