Mar 31/April1

I missed you all last weekend!  I have to tell you that I had an amazing experience on my 'Walk to Emmaus' retreat.  Thank you to all of you that sent encouraging words to me!  If you have not been to the walk and would like to know more about it, please contact me and I'll point you in the right direction!  Emmaus is a wonderful way to rekindle, renew, capture or recapture a relationship with Christ.  Let me know if I can help you.

We have a new study opening up in April, to let people know about.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO - Life is a difficult journey—with or without God. Those who invite God to join them on this adventure believe that when bad things happen they can trust God to be present and to work on their behalf. But just exactly how does this? Answer this question in terms of life at home, work, in marriage and parenting…and beyond. No cost.
  • Leader: Pastor Tim Farrell
  • Dates: April 11, 18, 25; May 2, 9
  • Location: Worship Center

Here is the Easter schedule.
Invite friends and family!

EASTER'S AROUND THE CORNER

In many Christian churches, the 6 weeks preceding Easter—Lent—is a time of reflection and preparation, reminiscent of the 40 days Jesus spent in the wilderness. Consider how these opportunities can help you prepare for the celebration of Easter.
PALM SUNDAY WEEKEND
Saturday, March 31; 6:00 pm;
Sunday, April 1; 9:00, 10:15, 11:30 am

Recalling the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem to the acclamation of the crowd (who placed palms and cloaks in his path), this service signals the start of our week of Easter observances (“Holy Week”).
Drama-enriched worship services; children’s palm processional (Sunday at 10:15)
TENEBRAE SERVICE
Thursday, April 5; 7:00 pm
Latin for “shadows,” the Tenebrae service allows us to consider the whole story of Easter, not just the “happy ending” of Jesus’ resurrection. It’s not a joyous service; it’s a recounting of the betrayal, abandonment and death of Jesus, to help us understand what Jesus’ went through on our behalf.
Meditate, take Communion and reflect on Christ’s passion and death.
GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE
Friday, April 6; 12:00 noon
Take a break from work for this 30-minute service, anchored by a powerful video presentation. Soup and bread lunch provided afterwards.
EASTER CELEBRATION SERVICES
Saturday, April 7; 6:00 pm
Worship
EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE
Sunday, April 8; 6:30 am
Watch the sun rise as you celebrate the rising of God’s Son! An Easter tradition.
EASTER BREAKFAST
Sunday, April 8; starting at 7:30–9:00 am
Proceeds go to misions.
EASTER CELEBRATION SERVICES
Sunday, April 8;
Traditional Service - 9 am
Contemporary Services - 10:15 & 11:30 am

Great music, beautiful flowers—and a joyous celebration of Jesus’ resurrection. Don’t come alone!

THE KONY CAMPAIGN (INVISIBLE CHILDREN)

Sunday, April 1 at 11:30 in the EPICenter

Hear a representative from Invisible Children talk about the organization and “the Kony Campaign”—bringing war criminal Joseph Kony to justice. All are welcome; due to mature subject matter, we suggest not bringing children under age 10.
Contact: Bobby Brooks, Bobby@BoredonSunday.com.

EASTER BRUNCH CONTRIBUTIONS

If you can help supply one of the breakfast casseroles for the Easter Brunch, please pick up a pan and recipe at the Information Desk in the lobby. Milk, juice and fruit are also needed. Take a reminder card from the board in the lobby. Items should be dropped off at the EPICenter at 7 am on April 8.

Save your loose change and let Wesley (the ministry to area college students) use it to help change the world! Proceeds of the Change for Change collection help fund Wesley student mission trips (travel expenses and project materials). Pick up a collection bucket in the lobby.

Let's continue to be Jesus' hands and feet because that is what he asks us to be...
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)

The first part of being HIS hands and feet....is having HIS heart.  Let's all remember to stay open to new faces, lost expressions and wandering souls.  In our short time as Ushers or greeters let's look outside of groups of friends and familiar faces and seek to lead and guide the new, lost and wandering.Thank you all for all you do!!!
God Bless,
Patti
