The second week of July already!

I had to start you off with a funny post I saw....

Now that I got you all giggling...I hope this week finds you well!  There are just so many things going on here at UCUMC that I want to encourage everyone to click on the links below to know whats coming up.  Let me arm you for all the possible questions you might get when you are serving.....

Community Updates
Although the summer has slowed some things down a bit here at the church....we are still seeing new faces coming to worship and trying to find out what we are all about.  Please be an available resource for those people when they come through our doors.  So many visitors I have spoken to have been so impressed by how welcomed they were when they arrived.  Keep up the great work hospitality!!!

Ushers-Please remember to empty out all the collection box's after the 11:30 service and put everything in the locked office.  Please ask for directions if you aren't sure where this location or the key is.

Please help people find a seat.  It's hard (and sometimes intimidating to new visitors) to try to find a seat once the Sanctuary fills up.  As you see in the picture above...people tend to like to take the seat right on the isle.  Help people arriving by asking the people at the end if they would please move in to make room for someone.

If you need help ask.  If you need another usher...ask someone.  Reach out to someone coming in and just say "Could you please help out today, we're a little short handed".  The worst they will say is no.  The most surprising thing though....is most of the time the answer is "Yes...I didn't realize you needed any help"
It would be great if we had a button like the one above!
What we do have though is our friendliness and sincere voices to reach out and ask.

And....THANK YOU...as always...for working through sometimes frustrating volunteer moments...and doing your part to make it all work out regardless of the circumstances and situations.
We may not always have it together perfectly.....but we all work perfectly together!!

God Bless!
