Our sermon series continues this week with Avatar! Again there will be popcorn and fun! For Saturday Night Ushers and Greeters please know that the popcorn is located under the front desk along with cups to put it in. Please chip in and lend a hand filling cups with popcorn and placing them on the lobby counter. Greeters...please let people know that they can help themselves to some popcorn!Ushers-Please help people find seats when the Sanctuary starts filling up.
Greeters-Please remember to close the doors when you can. Once the amount of people starts to trickle down you can just stand by the door and open it when needed. This will help the temperature remain even in the church.
I have to give you all feedback from a family that came to our church this past weekend. The woman said that they were greeted with such a warm welcome and saw such happy faces that they felt extremely welcome here! She said every person they came in contact with was friendly, helpful and kind. It warmed my heart to hear that because that is EXACTLY how my family felt the first time we came here too!!!
Keep up the good work of putting your hearts and smiles forward to welcome people into HIS house!
p.s. She said not only are they coming back...but they can't wait to be part of this church!
WHATS COMING UP?
Our Church picnic will be coming up July 3rd. Be sure people know about this and plan on attending with friends and family!
VBS starts June 27th! The time is 9-12:30 if anyone inquires.
Be aware of volunteer opportunites like this that you can share with others!
BOTTLED WATER......
We may start getting donations for our July 3rd picnic. Please direct people to bring their water over to in front of the bins and place them there on the floor.
Volunteer Name Tags.........
If you are in need of a new name tag, or never received a name tag, please let me know by making a note of that on the sign up sheet in Volunteer Central when you come in.
Please sign in when you arrive. Everyone volunteering for either Ushering or Greeting are asked to arrive about 20 minutes early to prepare to help out. Before you start your shift, please go to Volunteer Central and sign in. It helps everyone helping know who is on their team that morning....and if people need to be grabbed to help at the last minute.
When you can not serve on a particular weekend you were scheduled...please call someone on the schedule to fill in for you. In most cases there is a 'Subs' column on the right hand side. If not you can also call volunteers from other weekends and simply trade with them. Please don't be affraid to contact anyone on your schedule. You are all part of a team and people are usually very happy to help if they can. If you have trouble finding someone let me know...but please give it a try first. This schedule can be a bear at times, and there are changes all the time. It really helps if everyone can chip in and handle their particular time slot. I will of course help you though, if you can't seem to find any replacements!
