Has anyone asked you to pray for them lately?
If so...let them also know that we have a Prayer Group dedicated to praying for them.
They can submit their prayer here: http://www.ucumc.net/prayer-request

RE: LENT
We will focus our thoughts during Lent using a four-part guide: examining our sin in light of God’s immense love; pondering the radiant life of Christ; considering the shocking death of Christ; and contemplating the glorious resurrection of Christ. We’ll use this framework in four ways.
- Ash Wednesday Service, February 22
This intergenerational service signals the start of Lent. Guided by our age-level ministry leaders, we’ll consider the four-part focus as we head into Lent and, if you desire, participate in the ages-old tradition of placing an ash-cross on our foreheads.
- At-Home Resource
We will provide a great formative resource that you can go through at home, individually or as a family. This resource for all ages will be available starting at the Ash Wednesday service.
- Wednesday Nights
The RE:LENT focus will become the outline for Pastor Tim (adult study), Bobby Brooks (EPIC Student Ministry) and Nancy Scheid (KidsZone) on Wednesday nights.
- Blog
Pastor Tim, Bobby and Nancy will post blogs to our website, with age-specific resources to live into personally, at home or even with a small group.
This is a great time to start getting involved in the life of the church. Let people with children know about this wonderful 'interactive' Lenten season.

WHAT DO THOSE WORDS MEAN?
Has anyone asked you what the words on our lobby wall mean?... Love-Link-Launch?
LOVE
The first step of our process we call LOVE. Love events/programs are entry points. These include weekly worship, EPIC Friday and Sunday nights, children’s worship in the Shack and Clubhouse, and more. Love describes this step because these events are where people learn to understand God’s love for them, and to express their love of God through worship. It’s also where we as a congregation show our hospitality (practical love) to our guests.
LINK
The second step of our process we call LINK. We believe that spiritual growth happens best in the context of relationships, so we offer many opportunities for people to join small groups (here we call them Link Groups) that fit their age, stage in life or interests/needs. We also include small group experiences in our Bible studies and other activities. Linking allows people to make Christian friends and learn what it’s like to live in a caring community.
LAUNCH
The third step in our process is termed LAUNCH. People “launch” as they live out the Word of God. Launching is getting involved… in the church, in the community and across the world.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful week! Thank you again for all you do at this church! Today I heard another story about someone that came to visit University Carillon. They could not get over how warm and friendly we were! They enjoyed their visit so much because of how they were made to feel.
Welcomed....
Thank you for being the warm and friendly face of this church.
People notice and it means the world to them!
